Fraxel Laser Melbourne
Renew your skin and remove pigmentation scars and wrinkles, Skinovate has been performing Fraxel laser treatments in Melbourne for many years.
Our extensive experience in the cosmetic industry since 1996 gives us a unique perspective on what new techniques and treatments can do for you.
How Does It Work?
Fraxel laser works by producing thousands of tiny pixelated heat columns deep in the skin which forces your body to create new skin in these spots.
Yes that’s correct, new skin is produced leading to younger, smoother, firmer and clearer skin – because it’s actually new!
Pigment wrinkles and scars dissolve away with each treatment and the skin becomes smoother and more refined, just like you want it.
We modify the laser settings to suit your skin.
Different settings are used for scaring and pigmentation and sometimes deeper or more shallow treatments are combined so that all levels of the skin can be renewed. We have the most unique treatment protocols in Melbourne designed by Dr Spano.
How Many Fraxel Treatments will I need?
Most people will need 3-5 treatments, however this will be tailored for each individual. You need several treatments because the laser works in a pixelated way, ie if a full face is treated only about 30% of the skin will have the heat columns in it. The reason behind this is so the healing time is very short, 2-3 days normally. If 100% of the skin was treated then the healing takes weeks not days and is very uncomfortable.
Results are immediate and progressive with optimal improvement usually seen 3 months after the completion of the course of treatments.
Treatments can be done at 1, 2 or 3 monthly intervals in one of our clinics around Melbourne.
Is It Painful?
No, most people experience only heating and a mild sting.
A very strong local anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin 30 minutes prior to the treatment and the treatment settings can be adjusted to match your individual comfort threshold. We can even slow down and pause a treatment for you if you are finding it uncomfortable.
Additionally, cold air is blown onto the skin surface to reduce heat and maximise comfort.
Will I need To Take Time Of Work?
The breakthrough about Fraxel laser technology is that there is little downtime involved compared to traditional resurfacing lasers.
Most people will be able to resume their normal activities 2 days after treatment and we have Saturday appointments available.
There will be some swelling of the skin overnight and occasionally a few pinprick type marks which are gone the day after. Your skin may be dry for a few days only.
If you are based in Sydney, you can also make a booking for a fraxel laser treatment with our Sydney partner Heber Davis.
